Founded by Dr. Kithsiri Jayasuriya
Since 1976
40+ Years of Experience
In the early 1970s, many schools neglected English teaching, causing students to lose interest and affecting their social lives and job opportunities. To address this, Dr. Kithsiri Jayasuriya opened the Institute on October 12, 1976, with support from Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Degambada, who donated a building. Dr. Jayasuriya aimed to inspire a love for learning English and help Sri Lankans gain essential language skills.
Initially starting with five staff members and 43 students, IESM has grown to 50 staff members and 3,000 students, reflecting its commitment to quality education.
Over the past 48 years, IESM has become a top private education Institution in Sri Lanka. Its graduates attend leading universities and excel in their fields. The institute focuses on developing language skills and cultural understanding for success in life and careers. IESM remains dedicated to inspiring language learners to reach their full potential in a diverse world.
