What is Aurora?
Aurora is IESM’s next-generation Student Information System (SIS), a comprehensive digital platform that enhances communication, simplifies administrative tasks, and ensures a smoother learning experience. This system is meticulously crafted to cater to the evolving needs of modern education, offering a centralized hub for attendance tracking, student performance monitoring, fee management, and secure communication.
Aurora was developed by Zuse Technologies, the official IT partner of IESM. This multi-partner project also included collaboration with three additional partners:
- LUXN – the official smart card partner, which provided the Smart NFC cards.
- Textware – the official communication partner, which supplied an SMS and WhatsApp messaging platform.
- Commercial Bank of Ceylon – the official banking partner, which provided an internet payment gateway for online transactions and POS facilities for card payments.
With the latest technological advancements, Aurora is designed to bring together all essential aspects of student management under one platform. It enhances efficiency, accuracy, and transparency, fostering a better-connected learning environment for students, teachers, and parents alike.

1. Automated Attendance Tracking
Gone are the days of manual attendance sheets! Aurora utilizes smart NFC cards, allowing students to simply tap their cards when entering or exiting classes. This real-time attendance tracking provides both teachers and parents with instant updates, ensuring transparency and accountability.
2. Integrated Fee Management System
Managing student payments has never been easier. With the integrated payment gateway, parents can make online payments and through and POS facilities provided by Commercial Bank of Ceylon. Automated reminders notify parents about upcoming or overdue payments, reducing administrative workload and ensuring smooth transactions.
3. Real-Time Student Progress Monitoring
Aurora provides instant access to students’ academic performance, exam results, attendance records, and behavioral insights. Parents can track their child’s progress, while teachers can assess student engagement and provide timely feedback to improve learning outcomes.
4. Seamless Communication with Parents & Staff
Effective communication is key to student success. Aurora integrates with Textware, our official communication partner, enabling automated SMS and WhatsApp notifications. Important updates, exam schedules, and urgent announcements are instantly shared, ensuring everyone stays informed.

Security is a top priority at IESM. Aurora ensures that student information remains secure and confidential, with robust data encryption and access control features. The system also complies with industry standards for privacy and data protection.
